Colchagua has a Mediterranean climate zone, with 4 clearly defined seasons. Influenced by the ocean and the Andean range, it provides ideal conditions for winegrowing, particularly over the summer, with up to 22° C daily variations in temperature. As a result, grapes ripen slowly throughout a long season leading to wines which are deep in color, with smooth tannin structure, ripe fruit flavors, and sound acid balance.
The San Jorge rural estate is in the heart of the Colchagua Valley, in the Peralillo district, consisting of 242 hectares where mostly red wine varieties are grown, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Carménère, Syrah, Malbec, Petit Verdot. Some white wine varieties are being grown as well, including Chardonnay, Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc.
